Musical Journey

Vijayalaxmi is a talented singer, writer, and harmonium player. She writes essays on a wide range of subjects pertaining to music, songs, and well-known composers which include creative events, raga base, song poetry, etc. She is currently working on a project about Pt. Hridaynathji’s musical contributions to society.

She carefully chooses her music to attain a mix of musical styles because of her husky voice she prefers to sing high-pitched tunes. Light classical Thumari, Bhav Sangeet, cinema songs, and Urdu Ghazals are her specialities. She also tries out different musical styles like light, ghazal, and semi-classical. Her mission statement is to spread happiness and peace through performing music all around the world.

The singer-songwriter has had the good fortune to get guidance from some of the most illustrious figures in the music industry, including her father Pandit Shankarrao Vairagkar, her uncle Pandit Jagdev Vairagkar and revered guru Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

Music is my happiness and my bliss; it is the ultimate aim of my life.

I owe my musical progress to my guru, without whose blessings I am nothing. 

Music helps me find inner peace and explains my existence in this universe.

My main instrument is my voice. I also compose and play the harmonium.

I am a published writer; the subject of my articles, a lot of the time, being music, songs, legendary composers featuring original incidences, raga basis, poetry of the song etc. 

I wish to explore various musical forms like Ghazals, light, semi classical etc.

I also wish to travel around the world to spread happiness and peace through my musical performances.
